BANGALORE: The CET Cell''s decision to print the actual fee structure for engineering, medical and dental courses on the reverse side of the admission card, has not stopped college managements from collecting extra amount as fee.
A few distressed parents told `The Times of India'' that colleges demanded a huge amount as additional fee despite showing the fee structure on the admission card.

``The amount which is being collected ranges from Rs 2,000 to Rs 6,000 and above. We are forced to shell out the amount for fear of being denied admission,'''' a parent said.
Another parent said the directorate of technical education had asked them to submit written complaints, citing the student''s name, admission number and other details for any action to be initiated against erring colleges. ``I cannot reveal my daughter''s or the college name as she may be harassed later. We cannot submit written complaints. The department should issue suo motu orders warning colleges against collecting excess fee. We fail to understand why colleges are harassing us,'''' he said.
Are the directorate of technical education and colleges listening?
